The Legend Of Dragoon was one of the first games I ever bought myself. It came with 4 discs and I would play it for hours on end.
The main story of the game goes as follows:
Dart is heading home from a five-year-long journey to pursue the Black Monster who killed his parents and destroyed his birth city of Neet. On the way, he is attacked by Feyrbrand, a dragon controlled by the Sandora, a rebel faction in the Serdian civil war. After Dart gets hit by the dragon, he gets saved by a mysterious female heroine named Rose. When he arrives at his hometown, Seles, he discovers that it has been destroyed by Sandora, and that Shana, Dart's childhood friend, has been
taken away. Dart sets out to rescue her.
Ok there is a lot more to the story but at least you get an idea of how this is all starting. This was the first game where I started to write really bad fan fiction. I have a habit of looking at the backgrounds and using that as a story idea (think along the lines of a cat who survives and decides to follow our heros through their adventures).
For people who have gamed for a long time it has a way of spilling into our real lives. This game did that to me. I started thinking about what it ment to be a hero. How bad things happen to good people and how we solve these problems.
Of course last I checked my village wasn't being burned down, but life has a way of falling apart osmetimes then we have to make a decision
